Family Affair

I have a lot to blog about, what with the weekend, and today's happenings, and recent purchases and such, but one thing at a time, ey? I'll leave something to blog about tomorrow.

This is much more a 'what I've done' post than anything, prepare for a number of family photos!

So Sunday was the Christening.
I was sure I had an outfit picture!
But apparantly not.
I think there's one on someone's camera, somewhere. I'll wait for facebook to throw it up.

Until then; Donna, John and baby Lewis at the church :)

Monday was Amy's 18th; me and mam went shopping during the day. I carried on the gothic vibe I was working on Saturday (and today...)

(Jacket from ebay; grey cardi from Uniqlo; dress from charity shop (Y); grey bodysuit from Topshop, via work; boots from Asos)

...and bought various things, all of which will be delved into at a later date. Note the obligatory myspace pose above. Classy.

And then, we went for a meal on the night, to Whitworth Hall (aka I can't remember the name of the pub at Whitworth Hall, it used to be Shaftos. Had a very nice/large curry)...

The eye tree! Freaky.
Lots of cute deer and squirrels (or squiggles, as we refer to them XD)!

So yeah, I came back on yesterday, and found myself sitting with 3 lads on the way to Glasto; via Brighton. They were alright, good craic like. Which is always appreciated when the sun is so bright you can't see your screen. ><.

This Time Next Year We'll Be Millionaires. Please?

Firstly, drool.
Secondly, yum.
Thirdly, oof.

...and if I were to link all the things I want from Asos, we would now be on approximately 'twenty-firstly'.

This is, of course, my weekly "check-topshop-asos-and-miss-s-websites-to-see-if-there-are-any-new-RTW-styles-for-my-placement-report" ...thing.

Which inevitably becomes my weekly "wish-i-had-money-for-most-things-on-these-websites" thing.

Sigh. I need money.
I need something to do over summer.
I NEED THAT PAID SUMMER PLACEMENT.

...no news on that front yet, although my phone is upstairs so you never know, maybes there's a missed call.
*checks uni email for 56th time today*

Anyhoo, for now I'll have to make do with the 27402957498352 things I've bought on ebay since I made some $$$ selling crap I no longer want. I say crap, it's all good quality stuff, obvs...
I'll wait till I've won all the things I want til I do a 'here's what I've bought recently' post, though.

Right, back to desperately trying to remember which website had the animal print bra to replace the one thats too big for me now...

(I'll wait till I'm on the train tomorrow for a 'this was my weekend' post, FYI.)

Found Objects

Some things I've picked up on my internet travels recently...

A girl wearing the very same shoes I blogged about earlier this week - or at least some very similar. This pic only adds to my "these shoes are ace" stance, if anything.
Found at lookbook.nu, which is my new favourite site, and has given me so much inspiration for styling/designs/outfits I've had to start sorting things into folders. (FYI, up until now they were all whacked into one file, which isn't handy for finding specific things, now is it?)

Rocks with googly eyes!
I don't know where they are from, I can't remember which blog I found them on, and I do not like this fact. But I believe they are necklaces, with googly-eyed rock pendants, actually. And clearly straddling the awesome/random divide beautifully.
I want the coppery one on the bottom right, he looks more whimsical than the others.

Or the big dark green one.

More things should have googly eyes.

By Belle Sauvage, available at ASOS.

BEST.
TSHIRT.
EVER.

If you do not know why, you have not seen this:

OMG, SHOES*.
Is your life not more enriched by watching that?

*Oh yeah, WANT. Not in pink though, they are VILE. To revue, black and gold = fit, pink = shit.

Every Living Thing, Pushed Into The Ring

...fight it out to wow the crowd
*dances*

I am very into Metric's new album.

I haven't written about what I'm actually up to in a while...
So today I'm on the train home for Lewis' christening tomorrow, and to take as much stuff as possible back so I don't have to bring everything next week.
There was the cliche sitting on the case.
I was glad no one saw me do this, I feel acting out cliches is not a good thing whatsoever.

Although I feel it may be repeated next week....le sigh.

My faith in nice, kind, helpful Londoners was restored also - I know the assumption is they're all rude and generally not nice but there are at least 4 exceptions to this rule. The nice men who collectively helped me off the bus at Finsbury Park, stopped to let me cross over the road to the station, helped carry my bag down the steps at the station, and onto the actual tube to King's Cross - thankyou.

Oh, and then I made it onto the train with seconds to spare and had to drag my case through 3 carriages to get to my seat. Bad times.

And the outfit I chose to do all this in?
Gothic times, my friend:

Leather jacket, aka one of the reasons I'm now poor, from eBay; vintage dress
from Camden, vintage belt and boots from Brick Lane.

So now I'm on the train and the only thing I can think to do is blog and trawl eBay.

I haven't really done anything in the past week, apart from work at placement and Kasia's leaving party last Friday. We went to Bloomsbury Lanes, which, if you haven't been, is a 50's style diner/bar/bowling alley at which I sucked majorly at bowling (no bumpers, y'see. I'm crap without them, can't bowl in a straight line.) and got somewhat drunk (4 cocktails, since the company was paying and all). And then some of us went to Hackney, to a pub whose DJ was playing an awesome/mental mix of tunes. They might as well have plugged in my iPod, such was the randomness. Beyonce (Single Ladies ♥) and Nirvana (Smells Like Teen Spirit) were the ones I remember mostly.

And then I stayed at Laura's, whose room closely resembled a sauna.
I realise I haven't really mentioned Laura before, she's the girl I'm sharing my part time with on placement, and she's also on my course.

There are many photos on facebook, but here is a smattering for your viewing pleasure.

That's enough of that then.

Debating spending stupid money on train food. I wouldn't, but I'm starving.....hmm.

Textur-ific

Spitalfields Market, 7/6/09

11 days later, I finally post all of the looks...
This girl was so sweet! I love her sheer pleated skirt with her ruffled tee, so cute.
I love texture mixes.
