lanvin x h&m preview.

fashionista (and other blogs, ofcourse) were really quick off the draw on this one. it's only right i follow suit, espesh when this is one of the most covetable designer/high street collabs for some time.

my pick of the collection - so many great pieces!

H&M seem to pick their collabs really well - not only this collection, but comme des garcons, too (and likely others, but those were the first to pop into my mind), really captured the designer's aesthetics but fit right in with the rest of the H&M stock, which is just as collaborations should be.

there seems to be a lot of black/dark tones above, which i didn't pick up when flicking through the looks, so perhaps it's just the things i've picked out. even patent shoes! and ruffles! i hate patent! and ruffles!

what is this madness!

but lo, we can also peruse the men's section...

...which is just as wonderful. if not more so.

i wish, wish the prices were up already, so i can budget purchases, but right now i'm seriously considering the black and/or white puff skirts, the purple one shouldered number and the floral shoes, and at least one of the men's blazers. and maybe the men's leopard tee.

the subheading said 'playing with saris', which i only saw right at the end; but it was the first impression i got anyway. wonderful mix of prints, patterns and colour, all with pieces from this seasons collections.

there is still true creativity in fashion - you can argue that there is nothing new; there is certainly nothing new about saris, not about, really, any of the items here; and this has surely been done before - but it is beautiful, creative, and not overdone.

ankle length.

i joined a netball team today. for real.

i own zero pairs of trainers.

this is going to go well.

vintage dress//zara jumper//priceless boots//thrifted blazer//matalan (?) belt

you may recall this dress from last time i went to london, and the jumper is new (along with a grey/cream intarsia number, also from zara, and a pair of vintage armani jeans. score!); and i probably shouldn't have bought any of those things, but i live in newcastle and own, what, 2 jumpers?

it is cold up north.

more knitwear was necessary.

i like floaty skirts with jumpers. yes. a riff on my number one trend for a/w, right?

fyi i'm playing centre. because i am too short to play any other position competently. i believe my words were something to the effect of "if i can't play centre then there's no point me bring on the team..."
