I quite like trains. I mean, I don't mind travelling on them. The Newcastle to London journey is gonna feel like absolutely nothing, might I add. I liked going to sleep in Salzberg and waking up a few hours later to find the Italian countryside at the other side of the window. I do recommend it. Do a night train sometime, it's all very exciting. I'm looking forward to Barcelona to Paris, muchly.

train times
So I took some pictures from the train on my way out of Prague and then between Venice and Milan...

milanooo
I will get back to updating properly in Barcelona, hopefully. When photos aren't taking 20 minutes each to upload. Ergh.

There was a dog at the hostel, which also cheered me up no end. He was all cute and fluffy and little but not yappy (I'm picky about dogs, yeah?). I did try to get a photo but he wouldn't bloody stay still for 5 seconds so this is the best I got, which isn't very good at all and is mostly a picture of me and some fluff.

Awwww he was so cute!
Also ergh? Hungover. I woke up with 25 minutes to pack up my crap and check out. Good job they're lenient here. I turned up at quarter past. I have had fried food, and water, and I plan to go get a pizza in a bit. It's all good. I'm not friends with wine right now.
ANYWAYS
Milan! I was on a bit of a downer the little time I spent here. I didn't know how to get to my hostel and I couldn't find any internetz to get the directions, and I missed home, and that boy, and I'd had enough of dragging my case up stairs. And one of the wheels got a split down it so I'm living in fear that it will break. EEP.
But I done a shower and a cry and I put some clothes on and went into the city centre. It cheered me up a bit.
One one hand, I wish I'd had more time in Milan (I literally had one night and then my train to Rome was the next morning...) but on the other hand I think I would've been in a funk and I had to move on. I've been much MUCH happier in Rome kthnks.
I only got to see the main square, really. And the inside of Zara. Nowhere has thigh high boots! I'm assuming they're all sold out.
Here are some photos!
Awwww he was so cute!

four hours in venice
I left my case at the baggage place, I booked my reservation to Milan, I wandered. Some nice man took my picture cos I took his. Nice to to this.

It fucking rained.
IN ITALY.
I know it's October, but really.
I, apparantly, bring the weather with me wherever I go - it rained in Amsterdam; it rained in Berlin; it rained in Prague; it rained in Venice. It didn't rain in Milan! And thus far not in Rome! (In fact it was reet warm today. Well, just nice, not too hot. Good times.) But Liam informs me Paris is chilly. :(.
So yeah, I just wandered in the bit rain, and tried to find some wireless (to no avail), and had a mini pizza from some shop and a coffee in another and talked to a woman who told me to go to somewhere in Milan that I never did go to cos I wasn't there long enough...
Hmm.

In These Prague times, We Work Prague-r; Prague-r
OH DEAR SWEET INTERNET *hugs it*

I don't care how much of a loser this makes me, especially when I should be living the life, taking in the sights, and etc, but 3 days without wifi has turned me into a mess. A twitchy, sniffly mess.
*hugs it again*
AND NOW I have loads of postings to do! What is this craic?! Prague, Venice, Milan? All to do. GAH.
I hope you enjoy the title of the post as much as I do, btw. I missed Patrick in Prague by a week! Stalking fail.
SO YES! All I did was wander about for a day....I pretty much saw everything though, including a bit of a football march/riot effort. Which was interesting. And scary. Football fans, man, mental. Day 2 was spent sat in the train station cos I couldn't find anywhere to leave my bag! Sigh. I'll do a Venice & Milan post soon (possibly later today, if indeed I have nothing else to do.)
Moving on... Prague pavements are pretty cool! They're all patterned and whatnot. Vidi:
Errrrm right, what did I do. Walked from hostel into town, down street with loads of designer stores (check out the building that Prada is in!), into the main sqaure deely, round some streets via a few 2nd hand/vintage/independant stores, then up to the castle via some random garden with peacocks an ting. So, MASSIVE photodrop? I thought so. Including: crazy tree sculpture!
That last one was this crazy manmade stalactite thing in the Gardens of the parliament building; I had to check it out cos I saw it from the castle and it looked like hundreds of mental statues. I was actually a bit disappointed to find that it wasn't!
PS
I still miss Berlin (etc.) Peaked too early; i heard.
PPS
Everyone in Europe either has a mac or a TEENYTINY laptop. I want to know what the craic is with this trend.

Berlin, day 4.
Last day *sniff*

Got up late (remember the half 4 finish?). Had a massive coffee from Starbucks. Wandered around Kreuzberg, partly cos its a Bloc Party song, partly cos it was on the way to the East Side Gallery. Took photos there. Cue loads of awesome street art along the remaining section of the Berlin Wall! And a random sculpture thing...
Reserved seat on Prague train. Wandered some more between the station and the Holocaust memorial. Met up with the Dundonions. Made pizza at the hostel; more pool/foosball/cards times, more beer, more lack of sleep.
I will miss you, Berlin!
On a lighter note
I thought this hostel was genius before - at (the all you can eat for £3.50ish) breakfast, they have a make your own pancake bar, AND a scrambled eggs bar. GENIUS.
